Where is Mount Mee?
We are on Brisbane’s door step, located in what we call the Moreton Bay/Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Our farms are perfectly placed to provide grass-fed beef to South East Queensland and keep your food kilometres to an absolute minimum.
How soon after I place an order will I receive my grass-fed beef package?
Approximately 2-3 weeks.
How does the beef come packaged?
The beef comes sealed in cryovac packaging, each cut is clearly labelled and prepared in meal sized portions so all you need to do is store and enjoy!
How long can I store the beef in the fridge/freezer?
The butcher recommends storing the beef below 4 degrees in the fridge for up to 4 weeks from the date the beef was packaged (this date is displayed on each cut of beef). If there is any air in the packaging or cuts of beef with bones, store these straight into the freezer.
What are the ingredients in the sausages?
Grass-Fed Beef and some Maize Flour, Salt, Mineral Salt (451), Preservative (223), Flavour (Salt, Rice Flour, Spice Extracts), Colour (160c), Spice Extract.
Are your sausages Gluten Free?
Yes, all our sausages are gluten-free. We use only high-quality, gluten-free ingredients in our sausage making process.
Is the beef frozen or fresh?
Fresh, never frozen! From paddock, to processing, to your door our beef is never frozen at any stage.
Are there nitrates in the corned beef?
Yes there is. We have tried preparing the corned beef without nitrates and the taste and appearance is not appealing. You do have a choice to have nitrate free on our Mount Mee ¼ and The Carnivore (½) orders.
When will I know the actual total price of my order?
We aim to give you the total price of your beef package no later than 24 hours before pick up or delivery.
How do I make final payment of my order?
Our preferred payment method is a bank transfer, otherwise we accept cash or credit/debit card payments.
How old are the cattle when you process them?
Finishing cattle on grass alone is a much slower process than finishing them on a grain-based diet. The animals we process are allowed to finish/fatten at their own pace which is dependent on a number of things – primarily a combination of their genetic make up and the seasonal conditions on the farms. This slower pace is why grass-fed cattle have a much beefier and tastier flavour.
They are usually between the ages of 2-3years old.
Can I cancel my order?
The short answer is no.
Our cattle are too precious to be wasted and once processed the product is fresh and perishable. Please do not place an order if you are uncertain.
Our ethos at Yajambee Farms is to ensure that the whole animal is utilised to prevent any waste. When we receive orders, they are pooled together until the required weight is reached to process an animal. Once this processing is done it is expected that you are committed to the order or you will forgo your deposit and you will not receive your beef.
Are your cattle grass-finished?
Yes, 100%. Our cattle live on grass for their entire lives.
Can I choose my own cuts of beef?
Yes you can with The Carnivore order (1/2). With these orders, you get to fully customise what you want.
With all other orders, we encourage you to tell us your favourite cuts of beef and tell us the cuts you would prefer not to receive. With this information we create your pack to accommodate each customers preferences.
