For the last few months, most of our customers who are collecting a beefy package are talking about the price of food and the affect this is having on them….. and, the desire to make sure everyone’s farmers are getting paid a fair price too.
So, we did a recent experiment on comparing our cuts of 100% grass-fed beef ($25kg) from our most popular 10kg beef package. The results were very surprising, two of the “big” supermarket chains averaged $35.60kg and $30.90 per kilo respectively.
The comparison was also based on your generic cut of beef (grain fed and grain assisted cattle), and certainly NOT 100 %GRASS-FED beef.
This means that when you buy our beef you are not only saving heaps:
- 5kg $125 v $178 (saving up to $53)
- 10kg $250 v $356 (saving up to $106)
- 20kg $500 v $712 (saving up to $212)
- 1/8th $750 v $1,086 (saving up to $336)
- ¼ $1,500 v $2,136 (saving $636)
But you are also:
- Getting a natural grass-fed beef product that is healthier for you
- You are contributing to the consumption of the WHOLE animal.
- You are consuming the SAME animal, even in your mince and sausages.
- There are no three-gas mixture to brighten the beef for selling appeal.
- The beef hasn’t been frozen then thawed again to sell. We only sell fresh beef.
- Your reducing your carbon footprint by supporting minimal production of beef.
- You are supporting the ethics of animal treatment and welfare, and truly valuing where your food comes from.
- You are supporting regenerative farming principles.
- Your are supporting a local farming family.
We did this price comparison experiment as we only eat our own beef so we don’t really know what you are paying for beef. To be honest, I found the result to be quite surprising, as I feel from a personal view that when your purchase an organic product straight from the farmer, you pay a premium price.
Well, not here you don’t, you just get a premium product.
Who would have thought that buying local grass-fed beef directly from the farmer could literally save you hundreds of dollars, if not thousands, (if you are part of our Regulars Club), AND get a premium product that is not only healthier for you, but better for the environment.
